Revalidating your UK Amateur Radio Licence

Revalidating your UK Amateur Radio Licence

When Ofcom issued the ‘lifetime’ Amateur Radio Licence in December 2006, it said that all Amateurs had to revalidate their licence every 5 years at the latest.

This meant 2012, but since this year coincides with the London Olympics, they have now added another year of grace to make it 2013.

However, revalidating can be done at any time and it will give you another 5 years. So better to do it today than forget about it in 2012/13.

Should you discover that you’ve forgotten your Ofcom online licensing username/password/old email address then contact the Amateur Radio department at Ofcom on 0300 123 3333 or 020 7981 3040 Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm, email [email protected]

Remember the hard working and dedicated staff in the Amateur Radio division at Ofcom didn’t create the current online licensing system so please be polite when raising queries with them.
