Worked all Postcodes 2009

SO, where have you worked today?

I don’t know about you but there are times when all the other strings that pull me to do this and that – usually before doing these and those – All the above can move 'working stations on the air' to a very low point on the 'must do today' list.

Sometimes it takes a special reason to bring 'getting on the air' to the top end of the list. So, to help us rekindle the 'don’t put off to tomorrow what you can do today' approach, SDARC is again launching its Worked All UK Postcodes Award for 2009.

The way it works is this: You have three months beginning 1st March (ending 31st May) to work stations in as many different UK Postcode areas as you can. A post code area is like SN for the Swindon area. You can be at your home QTH, out mobile or up on Barbury /p in a tent if you like. The only limit is that you must be within the boundaries of the Borough of Swindon when you work other stations.

You can work stations on any amateur band and you can use any mode. You can even mix and match bands and modes.

You need to work only ONE station is each Postcode area. Once it has been worked you log it and move on to search out other postcode areas. There are over 100 areas, so it should keep you busy!

Scoring: A station worked in a postcode area counts as one point - whatever the mode, the band or the number of times you work that area afterwards.

At the end of May you simply send your log – with the postcodes showing to Chris YGY who is acting as adjudicator. A winner for the 3 moth period will be determined.

In September we run a second 3-month challenge.

Awards: There is a prize for the person with the highest number of postcodes worked in the first 3 months, a second prize for the 2nd 3 months and a prize for the overall winner. NO-One is allowed to win more than ONE prize.

So, what are you waiting for?
Blow the dust off the rig, find the mic or key and charge up the linear’s caps ready for the off in less than 10 days time !

Good hunting!
